  • Citizen-Living: Giving (Part 3)
    November 30, 2025

As we have learned over the past two weeks, citizens of Heaven are instructed to give—and to give cheerfully. We give, not out of law, but out of love, both for our God and for other people. In this expression of gratitude, the Spirit works within us and through us as we steward God’s generosity to others. We grow as we give. Grow with us today.

  • Citizen-Living: Giving (Part 2)
    November 23, 2025

Thanksgiving is a time to recognize and give thanks for all that God has provided—most importantly—the forgiveness of our sins through Jesus Christ. Our God is generous, and like the early church, we want to participate in the generosity of our God by giving to others. This week we continue Pastor Jonathan’s explanation of six principles that address issues like contentment, stewardship, generosity, and worship. Together we will gain practical insight on what God says about giving, and why grateful people are generous people.

  • Citizen-Living: Giving (Part 1)
    November 16, 2025

Gratitude has a reciprocal relationship with giving—when we receive, we want to give back. And through our thankfulness of God’s provision, we give to others with a joyful heart, providing encouragement and care in their times of need. Our giving to others is a sacrifice to the Lord—a tangible expression of our gratitude to our Savior. We give, because He gave all. So, why is this so important? Let’s resume our examination of Paul’s letter as he speaks of the joy and contentment found not only in getting, but in giving.

  • Citizen-Living: Stable-Standing! (Part 2)
    November 2, 2025

This week Pastor Jonathan continues to break down ways in which we can have a stable stance together as God’s people in the world. Philippians 4:1–9 speaks about stability—Christian stability, spiritual stability, stable standing, “being steady Christians, not being wobbly Christians, not being shaky Christians.” So let’s prepare our hearts and dig in to six ways to be steady and composed Christians together.

  • Citizen-Living: Stable-Standing! (Part 1)
    October 26, 2025

For the next two Sundays, we will be looking at Philippians 4:1–9 with Pastor Jonathan. Here we see Paul implore the church to stand firm with a Christlike mindset. What does that look like in day-to-day living? Let’s help one another look ahead and run the race well. Rejoice. Pray. Display gentleness. Admire the godly and not the worldly. Live your faith out loud. Let’s set our hearts and minds on thanksgiving to our Risen Savior Jesus Christ this Sunday as we gather to worship Him. See you there!

  • Citizen-Living: The Gospel-Life (Future)
    October 19, 2025

Paul warns against living as “enemies of the cross of Christ” with earthly, self-serving focus. Instead, we are to stand firm together as brothers and sisters in Christ and eagerly await the glorious future He holds. This Sunday, let’s gather in just that way as Pastor Jonathan continues his breakdown of “The Gospel-Life.”

  • Citizen-Living: The Gospel-Life (Present)
    October 12, 2025

Paul looked to his own past to emphasize that backgrounds and good works do not earn grace. This Sunday, let’s shift our gaze to the present as Paul reveals what action a Citizen of Heaven should be taking now, and why it matters.

  • Citizen-Living: The Gospel-Life (Past)
    October 5, 2025

What does it mean to have it all and still have nothing? Circumcised, pedigreed, and powerful, Paul was a triple threat in the eyes of human law. Yet by his account—achievements of the flesh meant nothing through the lens of God’s law. Together, let’s take a closer look at the only thing of true value—the righteousness that comes from God through faith in Jesus Christ.

  • Citizen-Living: Sacrifice
    September 28, 2025

Paul writes of Epaphroditus, a man closely known by both Paul and those in Philippi, one who served those around him in order to serve the Lord. How can we be like this man who Paul says to "welcome" and "honor"? Let's examine the qualities Paul lists and learn to live sacrificially for others and Christ.

  • Citizen-Living: Service
    September 14, 2025

In a self-serving world, we are called to serve others above ourselves. Show care. Show kindness. Be a reflection of God’s compassion in the world today.

  • Citizen-Living: Participation
    September 7, 2025

Although imprisoned, Paul does not give up hope, because his hope is not of the world, but in Jesus. He urges believers to “Therefore continue”—even in his absence—especially in his absence. Although Paul might die any moment at the whim of his captors, he focuses on obeying the will of the Lord, knowing that a life lived in the Word is a life not lived in vain.

  • Citizen-Living: Humility (Part 4)
    August 31, 2025

In his letter the Philippians, Paul helps believers understand what it means to live as citizens of Heaven on earth—that they’re not just proclaiming to believe stuff, but that they actually behave in light of what they claim to believe. Jesus models the path of humility perfectly. This week, let’s continue to examine Christ-like humility so that we, too, can humble ourselves, and behave as citizens of Heaven.

  • Citizen-Living: Humility (Part 3)
    August 24, 2025

Christ suffered the ultimate act of selflessness—death on the cross for our sins. This Sunday, let’s explore how He who made Himself the least is to be exalted above all things—in Heaven, and on earth.

  • Citizen-Living: Humility (Part 2)
    August 17, 2025

Paul defined what humility is—the attitude, mindset, and command by which we are to live our lives together as citizens of Heaven. Now let’s examine what humility looks like, and how it was exemplified by our Lord Jesus Christ.

  • Citizen-Living: Humility (Part 1)
    August 10, 2025

Humility brings us closer to the Lord and strengthens our relationships with one another. Our Savior modeled this by humbling Himself to become fully man and submitting to death on the cross. In all you think, do, and say, liken it to Christ Jesus and put others before yourself.

  • Citizen-Living: You-before-Me!
    August 3, 2025

In a world that often celebrates self-promotion and personal gain, the call of Christ is radically different. As citizens of Heaven, we’re invited to live with humility, unity, and a heart that puts others first. This message explores how the mindset of “You before me” shapes everything—from our relationships to our witness. When we walk in love and serve one another with joy, we reflect the character of Christ and create a community that points others to Him.

  • Citizen-Living: Reputation
    July 27, 2025

What does your life say about where your true home is? As followers of Jesus, we’re called to live in a way that reflects our identity as citizens of heaven. This week, we’ll explore how our daily conduct, our unity with other believers, and our courage in the face of opposition shape the reputation of both our faith and our community. Let’s consider what it looks like to stand firm together and represent Christ well in a watching world. This week we continue our exploration of how Paul modelled the importance and impact of perspective during life’s trials . . . and how God wants His citizens to view them.

  • Citizen-Living: Perspective (Part 2)
    June 29, 2025

“God will deliver . . . God wants to deliver, so Paul expects success. That’s his perspective. His perspective on the reality of a nasty life in front of him is not just deliverance—it’s optimism.”—Pastor Jonathan Murphy This week we continue our exploration of how Paul modelled the importance and impact of perspective during life’s trials . . . and how God wants His citizens to view them. We look forward to seeing you Sunday!

  • Citizen-Living: Perspective (Part 1)
    June 22, 2025

Convinced that God’s fingerprints covered the events of his life, Paul chose to rejoice. Tune in this Sunday and discover how a “Life is Christ” perspective transforms even the bleakest situation into an opportunity for joy.

  • Citizen-Living: Gospel Focus (Part 2)
    June 15, 2025

Now I want you to know, brothers and sisters, that what has happened to me has actually served to advance the Gospel.—Phillipians 1:12 (NIV) Looking through the lens of the will of God means recognizing life’s obstacles as opportunities. Join us this week as Pastor Jonathan continues to examine Paul’s gospel-focused attitude, and learn how, even when in chains, you can be free.

  • Citizen-Living: Gospel Focus (Part 1)
    June 8, 2025

How do we live as citizens of heaven in a world that is increasingly hostile toward God and toward Jesus Christ? Despite being bound by chains, Paul’s faith and focus never wavered. His actions and attitude overflowed with a divine love that impacted not only the recipients of his letters, but those who encountered him in the prison cells. Join us this Sunday as Pastor Jonathan resumes his breakdown of Philippians, and learn how the right focus can affect not only your life, but the lives of those around you.

  • Citizen-Living: Maturity (Part 2)
    May 25, 2025

“Maturity is growth to a completed state—to becoming the person God created and desires you to be.”—Pastor Jonathan Murphy. Paul’s prayer emphasizes that spiritual maturity requires growth in four areas: heart, head, hands, and whole being. This week we continue our examination of Philippians 1 and identify the characteristics God desires for each of us as citizens of His Kingdom.

  • Citizen-Living: Maturity (Part 1)

  • Citizen-Living: Gratitude! (Part 1)
    May 4, 2025

In this message, we’ll explore the deep gratitude Paul expresses for the Philippian believers—a gratitude rooted not just in friendship, but in their shared mission, spiritual growth, and unity in Christ. As citizens of heaven living on earth, what does it look like to live with that same kind of thankfulness? Let’s rediscover the joy of gospel partnership and the power of grateful hearts.

  • Citizens of Heaven on Earth: Overview
    April 27, 2025

In the opening of his letter to the Philippians, Paul reminds believers that their true citizenship is not rooted in any earthly place—but in heaven. This first message in our new series sets the stage for what it means to live with a gospel-centered identity. We'll explore how this theme runs through the whole letter and how it shapes the way we live, love, and lead in the world today. Let's begin the journey of discovering what it means to live as citizens of heaven—right here on earth.

  • Worship!
    March 9, 2025

In a world full of voices clamoring for our attention, it's easy to give our devotion to the wrong things—even with the right intentions. In Revelation 22:9, John, overwhelmed by the vision before him, fell at the feet of an angel. But the angel's response was clear: Don't do that. Worship God!

  • Proclaim
    March 2, 2025

As followers of Jesus, we are called to proclaim the Gospel. Those around us need to hear the good news of the kingdom of God. Sadly, things like fears, doubts, and distractions hold us back. We talk ourselves out of being able to witness to Christ, which dims the light of our witness. This Sunday we’ll explore God’s call on our lives to proclaim His good news and be reminded that we can do it in significant and yet natural ways in those places He already has us.

  • Serve
    February 23, 2025

God calls His people to serve and even gifted each of us to do so. The purpose of serving others is not personal recognition but to build up the faith-family. When we serve one another, the church family is cared for by one another and we all grow in the faith. Faithfulness in serving others is a beautiful duty of every believer in obedience to God. It is a life of gratitude that glorifies Him.

  • Grow
    February 16, 2025

It is God's will that His people become more like Jesus Christ. When God's lookalikes (us) look more like Jesus, we become who we were meant to be as His representatives in the world from the very start! The Holy Spirit uses many ways to shape us into the image of Christ—His Word, His people, life's highs and lows! Growth in Christ is good for you, and it is good for us. Our maturity matters to God!

  • Belong
    February 9, 2025

What is the Church? Is it a building we frequent on Sundays? Is it an event with sermons and songs? First and foremost, the church is a people—the people of God! In the New Testament, we are described as God's children, adopted into His family, and members of His household. All to say, we are more than a club, an event, and a social gathering. We are a family, rooted in truth, who belong to Christ. And as a family, we get to do life together as we represent Him in the world! Come this Sunday to our family gathering. We'd love you to belong to God together with us.

  • Love Others
    February 2, 2025

Jesus explains the greatest commandment in day-to-day life with other people in Luke 10:25–37. He glues loving God with loving others. For Jesus, they’re inseparable! The parable of the Good Samaritan shows us how we love our neighbor as people who claim to love God with our all, all, all, all. The Good Samaritan shows us that Jesus-desired love for others is not restricted to those who deserve love or will love us back. The one who loves—at personal cost, self-sacrifice, without hesitation or limits—is the one who loves others out of love for God. Join us as we explore what it means to love others in a way that displays the glory of God!

  • Love God
    January 26, 2025

Last week, we explored God’s vision for the church. It is to make known the Glory of God. This week, we begin to focus our attention on how to do that. According to Jesus, we glorify God when we love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength—that is, with our all. In Mark 12:28–44, Jesus teaches us that the greatest commandment is to love God fully and completely. And He directs us as to how that is expressed in daily life. Love for God emerges as loyalty to God’s Son, Jesus. God sees love toward Him not in fake displays of religious devotion but rather in genuine, sacrificial living—that is, with our all. Join us as we grow in understanding how God’s vision for the local church gets traction in our lives.

  • The Glory of God
    January 19, 2025

God's eternal purpose has always been to display His glory and wisdom to all creation. He chose the church to be a vessel to make this known. In Ephesians 3:10–11, we see that through the church, God's manifold wisdom is revealed—not only to the world around us but even all the way out to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms. Join us as we explore why the church exists in the plan of God. Together, we'll see that the church is not just a building . . . or a gathering . . . or an event in the week. It is more. We are more. We are a living testament to the greatness and glory of our God.

  • Loyalty to the G.O.A.T. King
    December 29, 2024

Luke's nativity story compares and contrasts Caesar Augustus with Jesus. While Augustus was associated with sovereignty, glory, gospel, salvation, worship, and divinity … Jesus is all the more! Loyalty is what the Greatest of All Time (G.O.A.T.) king deserves. But what does loyalty look like in the nativity story of Luke? This sermon explains what it means to be loyal to Jesus in an anti-Jesus world!

  • Christmas Eve Worship Service
    December 24, 2024

Come and celebrate the birth of our Savior! Join us to sing beloved carols and reflect on the true meaning of the season with an inspiring devotional message from our Senior Pastor, Jonathan Murphy. There will even be a special moment for kids to gather onstage and hear the Christmas Story. Let's come together on this special evening and rejoice in the hope of Christ’s birth.

  • Two Kings. One Savior, Christ, and Lord.
    December 22, 2024

Among other things, Luke's nativity story compares and contrasts Caesar Augustus with Jesus. Augustus was at the height of his power and reign when Jesus is born. He was considered the Savior, the Worshipped One (Augustus), and Lord, as in, a son of God. Luke knows very well how Romans—including Roman Christians like Theophilus—would have heard the declaration that Jesus is the true Savior, Christ (Chosen One), and Lord (son of God). Ultimately, the Greatest of All Time kings is Jesus! So, Theophilus, early Christians, and Christians today can stand firm in the faith and loyal to Jesus in an anti-Jesus world!
